How to contact the Virtual Privacy Office

The Virtual Privacy Office cannot take a stand on the contents of topics dealing with privacy protection. In most cases consultation, especially if personal matters are involved, is the task of the privacy protection authorities. So, if you have a particular question, please first have a look in the category Consultation to see which institution is competent to deal with your question. In cases of doubt, the Privacy Commissioner of Your Member State or the Federal Privacy Commissioner are generally recommended addresses. Possibly your question has already been dealt with in our FAQ section? Or maybe you would like to discuss your question with some experts?

How to find our office

Journey by train and bus / taxi

If you are travelling by train it is only a few minutes' walk to reach us:
Leave the station building by the main entrance and then turn left towards the city centre. Follow the road parallel to the big shopping mall ("Sophienhof") to the big crossing. On the right side you will see the main post office and on the left, on the opposite side behind a line of trees you will find the line of houses including the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection.

Those who want to go by bus should turn left at the end of the track (and do NOT leave the station by the main entrance at the front). There you will find the platforms with the buses going to the city centre. Take a bus with the number e.g. 11, 12, 22, 32, 41, 51, 61, 91, 100, 200, 501, 900 and leave at the next stop ("Andreas-Gayck-Straße"). Then cross the road toward the line of trees on the left. Behind it is a line of houses with our building quite in the middle of it.

Those who wish to take a taxi from the station should leave the building by the main entrance. There you will find the taxis.

Journey by car

The motorway ends in Kiel. Drive straight on at the first crossing into "Schützenwall" and follow the signposts leading to the "Ostseehalle" where you can park your car in the parking garage. Then leave the garage in the direction "Fußgängerzone/ Europaplatz". When you arrive at the pedestrian zone turn right at the corner ("Café Fiedler"). After some more meters along the line of houses you find us on the right hand side.
